Explanatory terminology dictionaries in Vietnam

Abstract

Explanatory, multilingual and multilingual explanatory terminology dictionaries are three main types of terminology dictionaries that are classified based on the form and content of these dictionaries. In Vietnam, the first work that is considered a terminology dictionary appeared in 1942, it is a multilingual terminology dictionary. Meanwhile, explanatory terminology dictionaries did not appear until 1950. Since then, the process of developing the terminology dictionaries in Vietnam has gone through many different stages. In order to see the prospects of compiling the terminology dictionaries in Vietnam, the article focuses on studying the current situation of compiling the explanatory terminology dictionaries in Vietnam since the appearance of the first terminology dictionary until the end of 2020.
