The classification of Vietnamese locutions

Abstract

Locutions are a special linguistic unit in the vocabulary of each language. In Vietnamese, locutions have been studied for a long time in many different aspects. As early as the 1940s of the 20th century, the term “locution” appeared in the work Vietnamese Grammar compiled by Tran Trong Kim, Pham Duy Khiem, and Bui Ky. Since then, there have been many researches on Vietnamese locutions. Due to the limited framework, the article would like to focus on studying the classification of Vietnamese locutions.
